August 10, 2021The guide list several profanities used in the series. I was shocked that just in the first episode the F-word was thrown out which common sense does not list. Also, Common sense gives a low sex rating listing only some scenes with kissing however again in the first episode an autopsy was being performed on a man that is shown in his underwear with what appears to be an erection. Also, several scenes later of a naked girl stretched out on autopsy table uncovered with her breast exposed. I understand shes suposed to dead but this is an actor laying there naked, not a dummy stand in nor was it blurred out. Very disappointing first episode. As for the episode itself, Harrow obviously has a dysfunctional family life, apparently divorced and his daughter is living on the streets. Looks like it could be worth watching if not for the previously mentioned problems. Also, of course they had to include a minor character who is gay as if there is a gay person in every job, office, or position in the world. Adds nothing to the show and is there only to placate to the LGBTQ community.
April 3, 2024Whoever rated this didn't watch it. There is full frontal nudity in multiple episodes. The second episode alone had 2 sex scenes, including a bisexual threesome with clear male on male intercourse. This is not just "some kissing".
In HARROW, Dr. Daniel Harrow (Ioan Gruffudd) is a whip-smart coroner who uses his deep knowledge of medicine, biology, and training to solve crimes alongside police detective Bryan Nichols (Damien Garvey). Despite Harrow's success at work helping Queensland combat crime, his personal life is full of drama, including a tense relationship with his estranged daughter Fern (Ella Newton).
Fans of procedurals will love investing in Harrow, which has echoes of shows like Bones and Rosewood. The show uses certain tropes, like the main character not doing things "by the book" and struggling with a turbulent personal life. If you're a fan of procedurals, you'll be very familiar with certain character and relationship beats. However, Gruffudd brings unexpected layers to Harrow, who could have been one-note. Along with Gruffudd, Gilshenan and Garvey are entertaining as Harrow's fellow coroner Dr. Lyle Fairley and local police detective Bryan Nichols, respectively.
Overall, the series is great for those who are interested in science, particularly biology and medicine. The number of scientific terms used in the series, such as the names of bones and other anatomical terms, could make science-minded viewers want to learn more about the human body and the medical field in general.
